Food and Nutrition – Year 11
The Home Economics department provides a practical based course which encourages young people to make healthier food choices. We achieve this by providing a wide range of challenging and enjoyable activities which teach them the skills for a lifetime.
1. Develop a knowledge and understanding of the nutritional requirements for good health in people across all age groups
2. Develop a knowledge, understanding and the skills for selecting and preparing foods
3. Develop the skills needed to prepare food successfully and safely at a personal level, and as a shared responsibility
