Established in 1969, Glenfield College is a state co-educational secondary school (Years 9-13) on the North Shore of Auckland. Over the years, we have nurtured many students who have excelled in external examinations, producing a proud record of academic achievement, above the average for similar schools. Classrooms focus on student inquiry and learning in a supportive environment, while our facilities encourage participation in co-curricular activities, giving students the chance to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

School TV: A wellbeing Resource for Parents
It’s never been more challenging for parents to raise happy, healthy and resilient children.
Like never before, parents need to be informed with clear, fact-based information on the many challenges faced by today’s youth. Topics such as youth anxiety, depression, self-harm, drug and alcohol use, cyberbullying and many others need clear explanation and guidance.
SchoolTV is an ongoing resource available to our parents. Each edition addresses a major topic with expert interviews, fact sheets, parent quiz, recommended apps, books and much more. SchoolTV aggregates information from many great resources such as BeyondBlue and ReachOut. SchoolTV provides a single stream of independent factual information that saves parents the time and confusion of searching online for information.

We are looking forward to the start of the 2011 school year after another very good year at our college in 2010. Congratulations to Ryan De Vries for being named as the Soccer Player of the Year for the greater Auckland region at the ASB Young Sports Person of the Year Awards and for being chosen in the top five boys for the overall award. We wish Ryan all the best for his future in football at Club and International level. Congratulations also to our Girls 1st XI Hockey Team for winning their North Harbour Senior A Competition and to the Boys 1st XV Rugby Team for winning their IB Competition. The 1st XI Boys Cricket Team won their top North Harbour Grade as well, so 2010 proved to be a very strong year in sports for our small school, punching above its weight.
While our 2010 sports successes were enjoyed we also showed our versatility by winning the judges award at the 2010 Auckland Secondary Schools Bollywood Dance Competition, for the second time, and blew the audience away with the Dance extravaganza evening in November. Our Drama students excelled in the production of Beauty and the Beast and the Concert Band won silver at the KBB Music Festival again.
In December our Year 9 classes worked on an integrated study of the Hangi, for their final few days at school, culminating in a hangi that fed 200 people. This was enjoyed by all and brought 2010 to a very positive close.
